Melissa Benedek is a native New Yorker who grew up immersed in the vibrant art scene of New York City. Her passion for creating art began early, at the age of 13. She started studying at the Art Students League, nurturing her dedication to artistic expression. Growing up with a father who owned an art gallery in SoHo and a mother who was an interior designer and art curator, Melissa developed not only a true love for art and design, but also an intimate understanding of how they inspire and influence us.

Melissa earned her B.A. in the arts and continued her studies in New York City and at Parsons School of Design. She began her career as a successful buyer for women’s jewelry before launching her own jewelry design business, gaining a following among celebrities and high-profile clients.

Her direction today is based solely on her artwork. She is a contemporary artist whose work is focused on abstract expressionism. Her portfolio demonstrates her vision and passion for colors and textures. She is guided by her intuition and is considered an intuitive painter. Her art features an array of beautiful color combinations and fluid brushstrokes that intersect, overlap, and react with one another until they unite into a wonderful rhythm. She feels her artwork speaks a language all its own—through color and movement.

Melissa has been featured in publications and has been hired to create numerous commissions, including a piece for an ABC News anchor in New York City. She exhibits in numerous galleries and exhibitions, including the Hamptons Fine Art Fair.
